Mama was on vacation this week so we went out of town, to a magical place called Sunriver. It was a long long drive. The night before when I was getting ready for bed, mama started getting me psyched up. I wanted to go bye bye right then but mama told me that after I went night night, we would get up, eat, and go bye bye. I had to let that sink in for a moment, then said "night night, eat, bye bye." Yeah.
The next morning they didn't move nearly as fast as I was led to believe but still, we were on our way before 11. We had toys and books in the car and being on the go was so exciting I didn't want to sleep. Finally I went to sleep around Detroit Lake but was only out for about half an hour. When I woke up, mama presented me with the most wonderful invention ever, a portable video player. I now have "dididos" in the car! So while we finished our journey, I sat in relative comfort and extreme pleasure while my baby Einstein videos whisked me away to a fantasy land.
In Bend, we stopped at Trader Joe's, my most favoritest grocery store ever. We were checking out the steak when Uncle Dodo walked by. Whoah! Not only am I at Trader Joe's, high on a few Baby Einsteins, after a good bye-bye car ride, but Dodo's here too! Too much, too much. Before long I had mama and Dodo chasing me around the store. At the checkout I saw something yummy and tried to get mama to buy it for me but she said I definitely did not need chocolate covered espresso beans.
We got to our house a little while later. After we brought all the bags in, I explored the house and mama and I took a walk.
Checking out the hot tub on the back deck.

Dodo takes lots of pictures of me too.

On our walk, we saw squirrels and a bunny but it jumped away when I got close. I was finding little stones and clumps of dirt for mama to throw like when she throws things for Bailey. I found a little seed and asked mama to throw it but then I saw a little ant on the ground. It was moving very quickly away from me. I kept telling it "hey, 'top!" but it didn't. I held the seed in front of it and chased it down the path, saying "hey, 'top, eat!" but it never paused a second.
The next morning I tried to feed a paint chip to a frog but didn't have any better luck.

And I tried to chase a squirrel up a tree.

Sometimes I just wear myself out.

We crumbled up the leftover pancakes and left them on the deck for the deer.

Mama really wanted me to have the chance to ride a pony. I thought it sounded like a lot of fun. We went down to the stables the first morning we were there. I was pretty hesitant though when it actually came time to get near it.
Even though I was pretty scared to touch the pony, mama asked me if I still wanted to ride it. I said yes even though I was a little afraid. It turned out really well! The pony's name was Blueberry. She was a nice little pony.
After we got back from the pony ride we went for a nice long bike ride. It was really fun. Daddy found a bike helmet for me in the shed and we tried it on.
On our ride we found the Deschutes river. We stopped to look at the map to see exactly where we were. I got to get out and stretch my legs a little.

This is what I was looking at...

We had stopped right by the airport. Daddy and I took a moment to watch a plane land.

We stopped for a moment in a shady spot so mama could take some more pictures of the pretty trees and water. Daddy and I are just getting a breather...after this we turned around and went back to the house.

That night we had company for dinner, a friend of daddy's that live in Bend. He brought his brand new wife and his even newer baby girl. I was a little spazzy and had to show off after dinner... and I've got the bruises to prove it.
The next day we went to the pool which was a lot of fun. They had a kiddie pool with sprinklers that shower you and a slide. There was also a big people pool that mama and Dodo and I were in for a while. But before we left I had to go back to the kiddie pool and that slide. Every time I slid down that slide I would land on my bottom in the kiddie pool and shriek and shake with so much happiness I didn't know what to do. I went down a bunch of times but right before we left, I got a little too excited and took a sharp left on the wet pool concrete. Oops! Down I went, right on my head. I got a big scrape and knot on my forehead and oh, it hurt so bad. I cried for a minute, then told mama I wanted to go down the slide again. She said I could do it one more time and then we'd go. And we did.
We went out to dinner in the village that last night and I told mama I wanted a chicken sandwich but they ordered me grilled cheese. I had fries and lots of ketchup.
After dinner we walked around the village a little. Two little girls were skipping by so I decided to follow them, galloping. They thought it was funny but I just thought it was fun. When mama finally caught up with me, we walked back to daddy and Dodo and another little girl found me. She was really little, about one (half my age!) and she kept sticking her tongue out at me. In and out, really fast. Her mama said that she had been doing that all night and I was the only one who found it amusing. I walked up the ramp with her and she wanted me to go with them but I told her "bye bye!" It's not nice to lead on those young girls.
When we got home that last night mama and I took a last walk around. I took my school bus with us.

In these pictures you can't really see all the ketchup and ink pen that I got on my shirt during dinner...
Well, all good things must come to an end. We had a blast at our rented house, I kept calling it "'body home" because whenever I point out a house and say "home", mama says "yes, it's somebody's home".
As we drove away, we waved bye bye to Sunriver and said thank you for the very nice time.
