I've been going to a Munchkin Dance class on Saturdays at the rec center. Mama thought it would be fun. And it usually is...for a few minutes. Then I start asking mama if it's time to go home. And she's mean and makes me stay and dance. There's mostly little girls in the class but this last week there were actually two other boys.
So we first have a stretching and moving song, where everybody raises their arms high and to the side but I just run around between people's legs.
Then we have a streamers song where we take streamers out of the box and wave them around to the music. That one is actually pretty good. I shake those suckers as hard as I can. When it's time to put them away I put mine back in the box and then take the streamers that are draped over the side of the box and make sure they are all tucked back in neatly.
So then there's a beanbag song. Yawn.
Then the next one is pretty good. We walk around in a circle. Well, everybody walks around in the circle except for me and one of the other boys, we run. Then the music changes and it's time to gallop. Excellent. Boy, do I know how to gallop! The teacher was watching me last week and said she was really impressed because it's a kindergarten skill and that I'm way ahead of most kids. Great... I'm sure the ivy league will be knocking down our door for that one.
That same song changes music a bunch of times and you have to walk, gallop, run, skate, etc. Usually I'm still galloping on the fourth switch and by the fifth I'm laying down on the floor and people have to avoid me. And then I get up and run in a circle, but in the opposite direction from everyone else. I'm a joy to have in class.
On the way home we were going to go to Target (yay!!!) and Trader Joe's (double yay!!!). But we were on the freeway cruising along and all of a sudden the car stopped HARD. It was so scary - I couldn't help myself, I started crying. Mama was scared and shaking a little too, because she had to stop the car so hard. Traffic on the freeway had come to a sudden stop. Then our phone rang, daddy was checking on us because there was a big accident on the freeway just a little bit ahead of where we were. I was able to pull myself together and stop crying, then the situation started getting funny to me and I started laughing at everything. They shut the freeway down for a long time and we were stuck in the car. It was getting really hot too. And other people around us were getting out of their cars, some were making U-turns across the other direction of the road. Other people were driving up the on-ramp, which looked pretty stupid to us.
After FOREVER, like 25 minutes, we finally were able to go again. We passed the big accident and then we got up to speed and I said "whee!". It was good to be moving again. Trader Joe's here we come!
