Whee.

I've been going to a Munchkin Dance class on Saturdays at the rec center. Mama thought it would be fun. And it usually is...for a few minutes. Then I start asking mama if it's time to go home. And she's mean and makes me stay and dance. There's mostly little girls in the class but this last week there were actually two other boys.

So we first have a stretching and moving song, where everybody raises their arms high and to the side but I just run around between people's legs.

Then we have a streamers song where we take streamers out of the box and wave them around to the music. That one is actually pretty good. I shake those suckers as hard as I can. When it's time to put them away I put mine back in the box and then take the streamers that are draped over the side of the box and make sure they are all tucked back in neatly.

So then there's a beanbag song. Yawn.

Then the next one is pretty good. We walk around in a circle. Well, everybody walks around in the circle except for me and one of the other boys, we run. Then the music changes and it's time to gallop. Excellent. Boy, do I know how to gallop! The teacher was watching me last week and said she was really impressed because it's a kindergarten skill and that I'm way ahead of most kids. Great... I'm sure the ivy league will be knocking down our door for that one.

That same song changes music a bunch of times and you have to walk, gallop, run, skate, etc. Usually I'm still galloping on the fourth switch and by the fifth I'm laying down on the floor and people have to avoid me. And then I get up and run in a circle, but in the opposite direction from everyone else. I'm a joy to have in class.

On the way home we were going to go to Target (yay!!!) and Trader Joe's (double yay!!!). But we were on the freeway cruising along and all of a sudden the car stopped HARD. It was so scary - I couldn't help myself, I started crying. Mama was scared and shaking a little too, because she had to stop the car so hard. Traffic on the freeway had come to a sudden stop. Then our phone rang, daddy was checking on us because there was a big accident on the freeway just a little bit ahead of where we were. I was able to pull myself together and stop crying, then the situation started getting funny to me and I started laughing at everything. They shut the freeway down for a long time and we were stuck in the car. It was getting really hot too. And other people around us were getting out of their cars, some were making U-turns across the other direction of the road. Other people were driving up the on-ramp, which looked pretty stupid to us.

After FOREVER, like 25 minutes, we finally were able to go again. We passed the big accident and then we got up to speed and I said "whee!". It was good to be moving again. Trader Joe's here we come!

I'm baaaack

Where have I been? We've been super busy and mama has been studying for a test so I haven't had any opportunity in the last two weeks to get at her computer without her looking. Mama's talking about going back to school. I guess she had to take a test to see if she was smart enough to learn. Or something like that.

What else has been going on?

We've done landscaping in the back yard and we've put in new carpet in our upstairs.

I got a new wagon. Red in color. Good for sitting in while someone pulls me down the street to the park.

"Yay!'

I'm still playing with Carson a few times a week. He's my best bud. He has a ride-on tractor that he drives around. I cheer him on, helping him, telling him when to go. I say, "mun, dew, wee...doe!"

Yep, that's a sheep.

Speaking of helping, when mama has to potty, sometimes she lets me come in the bathroom with her to help. And I do help. I tell her, "mun, dew, wee...doe!" "Yay potty!"And "Bye bye potty" when it's flush time. And when I'm at Carson's house, sometimes his mama lets us both come in and cheer her on when she's going potty. Mostly, daddy doesn't let me help him because a couple of times I've almost got my hand right in that stream.

Our berry plants in the backyard are very happy and I've already eaten two big handfuls of blueberries "bee!" and strawberries.

Gotta keep an eye on that garden.

Mama sings a lot. But usually it's a song that I don't want to hear. So I yell "NO!!!" until she stops. Then I move my finger around in a circle so she knows I want to hear "wheels on the bus go round and round".

I'm getting really big and doing a lot of counting and helping. I love to count EVERYTHING. Mun, dew wee birds. Mun, dew cookies. Mun, dew doggies. And I love to point out circles! And say letters! There's an "A"! There's a "Z"! And, look! There's an "O"! In the bath tonight I showed mama letters like the "M", ("aym") and "N" ("en-huh").

One of mama's friends gave her a bag of little plastic insects for me. I really like them and play with them a lot. They are nice colors and I like to line them up on the table.

My diapers were not working too well at night and mama and daddy were tired of washing the sheets so mama bought me night time pull-ups. They work really good! But when she first tried them, they were different than my usual diapers so I was not interested. Mama told me, though, that they were big boy underwear and they were like the underwear that daddy and baba and Dodo wear. Well, if Dodo wears them then how can I say no? So ever since then I refer to them as my "dodo pants". I can't say "pants" though so mama pulls them out and I say "dodo".

Mama's friend sent me a present for my birthday. She had heard I like money and putting it in my piggy bank, so she sent me a coin sorter. It's fantastic, the coins go around and magically stop and the right slot.

Tonight at dinner we were having a great time. We were making faces and funny eyes like we usually do. Then it was dessert time and mama brought out some apricot and vanilla yogurt for me but I said no I didn't like it. So she ate it and gave me some animal crackers. And then she had some animal crackers. And then daddy had some animal crackers. So we started playing with the animal crackers. They were walking around on the table and mama's were charging at me and I was laughing. And then daddy's animal cracker took off across the table toward me. Then out of NOWHERE another animal cracker came out and attacked that cracker and ate it and crumbled it and I got very upset and started crying. Mama was able to distract me but for some reason they thought that nature lesson was very funny.

No mama bye-bye

I could tell the weekend was over because when mama came downstairs she was actually dressed. She put her coat on and I said "No mama bye bye! No mama bye bye!" And she said sorry, she had to go bye bye. But I would have fun today with Daddy and Carson. I thought for a second and said "o-ay"(ok). Next time I'll have to work in the lower lip or a tear or something.

On Saturday, mama and daddy and I went to baby Ella's first birthday party. We took two presents, one from me and one from all of us. Mama made me carry in the one from me. I sat it down a few times on the way in and started to open it but mama made me stop.

So there were a few kids at the party; Abe, who is a little younger than me, Ella, some other baby girl and two big girls. The big girls were mean. They took toys away from me and then one of them hurt me. I was sitting on the hammock, minding my own business, when she came over, 'cause she had to be on the hammock too, and she climbed up. Well, that means I tumbled off. Fortunately mama was standing right there and grabbed my arm so I didn't hit the ground too hard. But I did get a scrape on my face. Mama asked the girl what she was thinking and the girl's mama jumped up to defend her. There was almost a mama fight! But mama just stayed very close to me for the rest of the party; I think she was waiting for the girls to try something else so she could tell them what she really thought of them...

Soon it was cake time! I got to have a cake-pop, which is cake and frosting smushed together on the end of a stick and dipped in chocolate. It was quite decadent. I finished it off and then headed back to the table for another one. Fortunately, I'm tall enough that I can reach the good stuff easily. Unfortunately, as I mentioned earlier, mama was sticking close to me and she vetoed the second cake-pop. Phooey.

Then it was presents time! Ella's mama asked her if she was ready to open some presents. I thought she was asking me so I said "YEAH!" and everybody laughed 'cause I guess you're only supposed to open presents when it's your own party. But Ella is low-tone, which means she can't walk or talk or open presents. So her mama let me help. I sat in the middle of the floor and tore pieces of paper off the presents for Ella. Then I gave the pieces of paper to different people, including Ella and the other little baby girl. The big girls came and tried to help too but they backed off. Maybe mama gave them the stink-eye.

When we left, I got to take a balloon and a pinwheel and some bubbles. Mama got lots of compliments from people on how kind and gentle and agreeable I was. On the ride home, mama thought I was going to hyperventilate from blowing on that pinwheel so much. It's pretty when it spins!

Sometimes grownups play in the sand too

This morning, by the time mama came in, I was laying on my back with my sleeper zipped all the way down to my knees and my hands behind my head. What? It was warm...

Carson figured out how to climb out of both his pack-n-play and his crib. Boy, his mama's not happy about that. I'm not sure why he'd want to do that though. I like my crib so much. I tell mama and daddy that it's "nigh-nigh" time, for nappy or bedtime, even when I'm not super tired. I like to lay in there and relax and read or play with my stuffed friends or watch my birdies. Sometimes I'll lay in there happily for a couple of hours before going to sleep. Mama and daddy don't like it, but I let them know that I don't want to be taken out and I just want to be left alone.

Speaking of Carson, here's a picture of the two of us enjoying lunch on his patio yesterday. Sometimes when I'm with Carson and his mama, people ask how old we are or if we're twins. Come on, like we look anything alike! I think Carson's mama likes messing with them - because she just says no they're not twins - they're three months apart. She likes watching them figure that one out.

Tonight, mama and daddy took me down to a park where they played with a ball in sand with a bunch of other people. They looked like they were having fun. Daddy fell on his back jumping after the ball one time. It was funny! But I think he hurt himself. Hee hee!

Some of the other people they were playing ball with had brought kids to the park too. There was a man and a lady there to watch us kids. The lady took care of the two baby girls and the man took care of the two of us boys. Abe was the other one, he's a little younger than me. The man and Abe were lots of fun to play with. We ran around and I talked him into taking us to the slide. I also picked a flower for mama and gave it to her during her game. She loved it a lot and gave me a kiss for it.

We got done after bedtime and on the way home I told mama and daddy that it was time for night night. They said ok and as soon as we got home mama put me in my pajamas and I brushed my teeth and we read a book and I got into bed. I was asleep before ----
