As I get bigger, I'm starting to understand more and more. It's lots of fun, and it's also lots of fun teaching mama and dada new things. They're doing things that they never expected they would, like discussing the contents of my diapers in public, and mama opening up a package of cereal bars in the aisle of Target before they're paid for.
Sometimes I show them that I'm more smarter than they realize I am. Mama and I went on a blackberry hunt a few weeks ago because the blackberry bushes out behind our house didn't have any good ones left. We went through the field and across the street and down into another field, where there was a super big blackberry bush with some lovely berries on it. Mama picked a bunch for me and let me eat them all. She says that in the summer, it's OK to spoil your dinner with berries because they're not around for long. So we headed home and I wanted mama to pick me up. So she did but she put me on her shoulders. I didn't wanna be there so I screeched and wailed. Mama said that we needed to cross the street first but then she'd put me down. So I stopped screeching and waited quietly for her to cross the street. She was very surprised but she shouldn't have been...
Tonight mama let me have four pieces of candy corn after dinner. I dribbled orange down my belly and when I finished them I signed "more, more". Mama said no more, we're all done. Then I found a little piece that I had dropped onto the table. I was going to eat it but mama had already said no more, so I decided not to eat it and I just fed it to her.
