Blankies

Mama caught the crafty bug about a week ago and was itching to make something. She took me to the craft store last weekend and we picked out fabric for new blankets for Kai and me. I was wandering the aisles of the fabric store, pointing to every third bolt I saw and telling mom that was my favorite. But then, I saw it.

The POKY LITTLE PUPPY! I nearly lifted off the ground when I saw it. I told mama that I wanted a blanket made out of that. I carried it around the whole store and couldn’t wait for my blanket.

Our blankets are kid size but big, and they have super soft fuzzy backs. Here’s mine!

Kai got a blanket with sweet little owls.

More fabric came in the mail today…I don’t think the bug is going away anytime soon.

First day of school

I’ve been so so so excited to start back at school! I am in the four-day fours preschool program at the same place I was last year. I get to see my friends again and my teachers and play and learn lots of new things! I’ve been asking every day for the last week if it was time to go to school and today the answer was YES!

And the kitchen and the baby, too.

Mama came with us this morning to take me in. She was so excited too but I told her she couldn’t stay with me.

So that’s that! I had a great day and built a large tower with blocks and played in the gym and had a scavenger hunt. Plus, one of our teachers read us a book called I Love School. So true.

Greatest Show on Earth

Mama got suite tickets to the circus and so I got to go on Sunday. We took my friend Gunnar and his mommy with us. I was very excited to go, and the only thing I was really wanting to see was the “amazing tigers”.

Mom bought cotton candy and a flashing necklace and a stuffed circus monkey as rememberances. I think cotton candy is yucky, though, the monkey is a little bit scary, and the necklace was just obnoxious.

Here’s mama and Kai waiting for the show to start. Her mouth looks really weird.

I did some picture taking at the show. Here’s my juice.

And some fruit.

The elephants were fun. Elephants are mama’s favorite animal. It kind of looks like this one is smiling. Maybe someone let it play with their remote control car. That would sure make me smile…IMG_2303

Who knew elephants could do the conga? I wonder if this is the kind of behavior they exhibit in the wild? Probably not. I hear that elephants prefer salsa dancing.IMG_2301 IMG_2304

Here is a high-flying acrobat.

You may remember that photography is a passion of mine. I continue to explore new methods and subjects. My current theme is called, simply, “Fingers”.

I have been borrowing mom’s camera and experimenting a lot. Like taking 12 pictures of the same section of wall in my room. To the casual observer, it’s just the same thing repeated again and again. But there are actually subtle differences in each, in which I am attempting to communicate widely varied emotions and daring the viewer to connect with the complexities of my world.
