Guess what, I'm now pottying standing up! I'm doing great with my potty learning and hardly have any accidents at all anymore. Except the poopy kind. That's a tough one, 'cause toots can be tricksy.
And I learned a new word! Well, I learn new words all the time but this one has mama kind of excited. Not in a good way, though. About a week ago I walked into mama's office while she was looking at the computer. I wanted to get on Ian's blog but she wouldn't do it right then. I blurted out oh, dannit! except it was definitely not n's in there, if you get my drift. I've said it again since then and mama keeps asking where I learned that word. But I won't tell her. It's my little secret...

my birthday
is coming up! I know because we've been talking about it for a little while. I love to look through my baby book and we look at the picture of my first birthday, then my second birthday. Then we see the blank page for the third birthday and mama and I talk about when I turn three.
Here are my expectations for my birthday. I tell these to mama and daddy a lot so they won't forget. (mama has only agreed to the first two)
1. I will get a new big boy bed for my birthday.
2. I will have lemon cake for my birthday.
3. I will get a ride in a helicopter for my birthday.

Busybody
It's been a busy weekend. Yesterday mama had class so I spent the day with oma and opa (yamma and baba R). Then after mama picked me up, we went home for a few minutes and then mama and daddy took me over to yamma and baba D's house. I got to spend the night there because mama and daddy had a party to go to that night.
Then mama and daddy came to pick me up this morning and we all had breakfast with yamma and baba and then went out to mama's friend's house for a playdate. Mama took her camera with her because I guess she's the official photographer. After we were there for a while she started taking pictures of the other little girls but I asked her to "take a picture of me too".

This is Ella.

And this is Emmeline.

I have fun with the girls and we had a nice time this morning but it was a long weekend and I was happy to go home and take a nice long nap.

Thomas overload
I got another wonderful surprise lately. Mama came home last week and opened the back of the car. Daddy and I peeked in and mama had brought home a B-I-G box of Thomas the Train stuff! Another one of mama's work friends had passed it down to me. There was a roundhouse and lots and lots of trains and tracks and bridges and tunnels. There was even a Henry train! Yey! Good thing I didn't pick Henry for my potty learning reward.

Here's a video of daddy and me unpacking things. All I could say was "wow, wow, wow!"
Random musings
Several weeks ago, mama and daddy took me to visit a school. The lady in charge took us for a tour. I walked through the classrooms and saw all the other kids and I was just so excited. It looked like so much fun! I tried dragging mama into the different classrooms because I wanted to go and join in. By the time we got to the two-year-old room I was in heaven. I tried dragging mama in again and she just said to go in and check it out. She sure didn't have to tell me twice! LOL.
Anyway we really liked it and I went to my first school day there this week. I took a backpack and everything. In the two-year-old class I have to have a grownup with me and yamma D went with me this time 'cause daddy was off playing at the dentist office. This year will be fun, but next fall will be even better...I get to go all by myself three days a week! I can't wait!
My school backpack

And me on my first day!

We were reading the Thomas Train book and there was a nice big head-on picture of Henry. Mama was reading the page and I took my finger and covered up one of Henry's eyes. I let mama finish reading the page, then I said, "He's a pirate!"
YARRRR!
Mama has been teaching me about coins a little and we've been reading the "money book" a fair amount. Recently I started holding nickels up to her and telling her what was on them. At first she thought I was saying "mr yellow" and she was correcting me, that no, it was Thomas Jefferson. But then she figured out that I was telling her it was "Monticello" on the back of the nickel. She thought that was great. I do it all the time now when I've got a nickel.
Mama and daddy went to a grownup party a few weeks ago. I got to have a real live babysitter. It was Emily from next door. She played with me and read me books and put me to bed. So cool! We had a good time.

Hello.
Things have been going really well! Very few potty accidents after that first week and I got my promised train after a week of no accidents (mama let me get away with one poopy accident...). We went down to our favorite toy store and I played with all the trains for a while and finally mama said I should choose. A new Thomas, or a new Henry, or a new Clarabelle & Annie. It was a tough decision but I went with the Clarabelle & Annie. Too many train engines and not enough coaches is kind of like the whole "too many chiefs" saying.
A few weeks ago mama and I were getting into my suitcase of clothes. That's where she puts all the clothes she gets on sale that are too big for me. Every once in a while we'll go in and pick out something new. This time we pulled out this great ensemble.

When we get into the suitcase we pull everything out and put it all back in. I like to help with the pulling-it-out part. When it was empty I sat in the suitcase and pretended it was a boat. Then I wanted mama to sing the "ABC" song. I helped in places. Then I wanted mama to sing "Eye of the Tiger".
This is my new hat. I got it for Christmas. We took this picture right after we got home from a walk, that's why my cheeks are all pink.

A few weeks ago mama came home with a surprise. It was an official Craftsman tool bench! One of her work friends gave it to me. It has all sorts of tools and things and I pretend to be a worker. As soon as daddy put it together I ran around the house and collected all my tools and put them away in the bench.

Mama made a little video of me saying thank you to the lady that gave it to me. Somehow we ended up with a really weird picture of me also.

Zoo
Last Sunday mama took my friend Mady and me to the zoo. It was a little later than we'd normally go and I got pretty cranky and stubborn not long into it. Oh, and I had my first public wetting-myself incident. Luckily mama had brought an extra set of warm clothes.

Mady really connected with the gorilla.

Here I am, not happy and showing it. Mady wanted to watch the elephants and I just wanted to get out of there.

Mady in the polar bear cave. I was so irritable by this point that I didn't even want to go in there, despite the fact that it's one of my zoo traditions.

I was a real stinker that day. Hope Mady will come with me another time so I can show her what wonderful company I can be...
