Mama and daddy ordered a new camcorder because the old one was stuck in the stone ages. It won't be here for a few more days but in the meantime please do enjoy a transcription of mama and me singing "you are my sunshine".
Mama: "you are my..."
Me: "yu-yum"
Mama: "my only..."
Me: "yu-yum"
Mama: "you make me..."
Me: "hap-pee"
Mama: "when skies are..."
Me: "...blue!"
Mama:"...grey. You'll never know..."
Me: "dea."
Mama: "how much I love..."
Me: "yew!"
Mama: "please don't take my sunshine..."
Me: "way!"

Thzoo. I went to the thzoo.
Tuesday night when I was getting ready for bed, mama said, "you know what you're going to do tomorrow?"
And I waited.
"You're going to wake up in the morning, and you're going to get dressed and brush your teeth and eat your breakfast, and then you're going to go with Kristin and Carson to the zoo!"
<...>
"thzoo?" "baby thzoo?" "baby too?"
and she said, yep I was going to the zoo. I was very happy to hear that and made sure to confirm several times.
In the morning I woke up and because I didn't take binkies to bed with me the night before, I couldn't find them on the carpet like I normally do. And mama told me I couldn't have them because it was morning and I wouldn't be sleeping so I didn't need them. And that sent things spiraling. Didn't want to get dressed. Did NOT want to brush teeth. And when mama reminded me about the zoo, I claimed I didn't want to do that either. "No thzoo!"
But mama finally held me down and got me dressed, and made me brush my teeth and daddy got me to eat. By the time Itin and Carson got there I was ready and rarin' to go. "Thzoo!!!" And we had a blast. Memo to mama. I have low blood sugar issues in the morning.

Happenings Here.
When I wake up in the morning, I hang out in my bed until mama comes to get me. Then when she comes in, I say "heeey! All done." And I swing my legs around to where my stool is and get out of my bed. On the weekends mama will change my diaper and bring me in bed with her and daddy. I ask them to turn on the tv and we watch the news. I tell them it should be on channel "1-2". Then I read them the forecast by telling them what numbers I see on the tv. "8-8", "7-9", like that.
Yesterday, we went to our munchkin dance class. It wasn't a bad class this time. We were the first ones there for once. Maybe it was because mama was driving all crazy to get there in time. ("Whee!") At class we did the good songs and I stole a beanbag and laid on the floor while other people were dancing (mostly the mamas) and I got a time-out for throwing my beanbag at the back of this other kid's head. He didn't care, but apparently mama did. At the end of the class I got a Snoopy stamp on each hand so it was all worth it. When I get my stamps I am very very careful to not smear them and I walk with my hands out to the sides until they're very dry.
I got my hairs cut yesterday. Booooooo.
Oh and I never did get that hand-foot-mouth-armpit-knee disease Carson tried to give me. Apparently his mama thinks he spread it around to a bunch of other kids but right now I am mister immunity and have so far been able to resist all the terrible disease he brings around.
Tonight I saw uncle dodo. It was a good night. We had a barbeque and made grilled chicken and yummy corn. I went next door and saw the cute neighbor girl Maddie. She gave me a hug.

Berry Bliss
When I was with Carson and Kristin ("Itin") on last Wednesday, we were out and about and Itin decided to stop and get some berries for us. Yummy berries! They were from a berry stand and Carson and I each got a bag. Of yummy berries. In the car. Yes, she knows that wasn't necessarily the best idea she's ever had.

Go ahead. You can tell me I'm smart.
Mama and daddy make a point to not tell me I'm smart. So I don't know...do other kids my age know all their letters and numbers (up to nine)?
I can also read my name when I see it written. Does that mean I'll have to tutor the other kids when I finally get to school?

Destiny
Yeah, I was born for this big boy bed thing. It's like we were meant to be together. It's been three whole nights and I haven't rolled out of it once. Also I don't ever get out of bed until mama or daddy comes to get me. I'm not really sure what the rules are on that one so I'm playing it safe for now.
I'm just so proud every night to climb up in there by myself. I shoo mama and daddy out as soon as I get my kisses. Night night! Now go! Leave me to my bed. My magnificent bed.

Big kid!
I'm a big kid now!
Take a look at the picture below. See anything different about my bed?

Yep, it doesn't have four sides on it anymore! After my nap today, daddy took off the outside part of my crib. When I saw it I was just blown away. "Wow" to the max.
I had to try it out.
Again and again. In and out. In and out.

And then, it got better. Mama brought in the big boy comforter that she bought for me a few months ago. It's orangey and yellowey and red(dey). It also has monsters on it.

It was a really big step so mama brought in one of my stepstools.

Then to make things even more spectacular, mama brought in the matching pillow. She and daddy weren't sure I would like it, but I do! I do!

I was so excited about my bed this afternoon that I was practically shaking.
Uncle dodo came over for dinner and we had fun. And mama made homemade popsicles for dessert today. With berries and grape juice. Yum! The ice pops are too cold for my teeth, so I make mama bite off pieces and feed them to me like I'm a baby bird. Only they're not regurgitated and coming out of her throat, they're bites that I eat out of her hand.
Right after dinner I announced that it was "night night" time. It was pretty early so mama wasn't quite sure that I should go to bed so soon but I needed a diaper change so we went upstairs. I made mama put my jammies on and then I only let her take me downstairs so I could say good night to daddy and dodo.
I wanted dodo to read me my new book "where's the poop?" so he came upstairs with me and he got to see my new bed too. He was very excited about it and happy for me. After he read the book two times I told mama it was time to brush my teeth. Then I wanted to get in bed. But first I had daddy read me my book a third time. Then I climbed up all by myself and mama pulled up the covers. I snuggled myself in bed and mama and daddy both gave me kisses.
I can't believe how great this is. I can hardly sleep. Maybe I should go downstairs and see what mama and daddy are doing...

Happy Birthday Carson
Carson's second birthday was last week. He got really sick though so we didn't get to go to the big party. He has something called hand-foot-mouth-ankle-bellybutton-earlobe disease. Or maybe it's just the first three.
We're playing the waiting game now to see if I get it too. I've got to say, the waiting game is nowhere near as much fun as ring-around-the-rosy.
So your great grandma thinks this is your best birthday ever, huh? She sounds like a sick cookie.

Counting to Four
After my last blog, aunt ninny sent us a link to a wonderful Sesame Street video about counting. It's lots of fun, you should check it out. The pretty lady's name is Feist.

Count on me.
I wish mama had a blog.
Carson's mama has a blog.
If my mama had a blog, she could brag on me and talk about all the brilliance that oozes from me each and every day.
She could mention things like my excellent counting skills. For example, we were out front tonight and I was counting the chairs. There were two of them and another two of them. I counted "mun, dew, wee..." and mama said "four..." As though I didn't know.
So I decided to continue the game. "Pie".
Mama said "Six"
I said "yemen"
and then "eite".
Wouldn't that have been a great thing for mama to post about, if she had a blog?

Things that go boom.
Would you like to see what I did for the 4th? Yeah, July. You know, celebrate the independence of your nation by blowing up a small part of it...
I'm told this was my third Independence Day, though I don't think we did anything the last two years. I'm sure I would have remembered.
Here's my first sparkler. I wasn't too impressed.

But when we started making noise and smoke, then I was totally into it!

Yeah! More! More!

Loving it.

Here's my second sparkler. O-ay, I'm starting to get the appeal.

Enjoying the neighbors' fireworks. They had lots of smokey things and things that crackled.

After dinner, I helped yamma get the strawberries ready for strawberry shortcake. Which, by the way, was the highlight of my year. Strawberries? Good. Shortcake? Good. Whipped cream? GOOD.

Helping
Every day I'm getting more growned up. Today I helped mama make some banana and chocolate chip bread and told her I was "helping". Just to be sure she knew what I was doing as I stuck my hand in the mixer.
After we baked I did the dishes. Well, I played in the sink with my dishes.

Daddy is doing a lot of work on the back yard and during my last nap finished taking apart the patio. Mama helped yesterday and Baba D came over this morning and helped. Pretty soon we'll have a really big patio with lots of room for many more toys.

Um
Um what else?
Mama and I went to Target the other day and got me some diapers and another little box of Legos. Now I have just enough Legos to make it through for another few weeks. Rolando really enjoyed playing on the structures that we built today. He got worn out from all that playing so I shared my juice with him.
Then Rolando went for a ride on the car that mama built for us.
Mama's helping me with this blog post (I'm just dictating this one) and I just came and sat down to check it out. "Help you". It was all good and nice until mama said "Ian, I love you". I turned and looked at her and said "bye bye mama". It's time to go tell daddy to get me more juice.
Pool Boy

It's been really warm lately so I've been enjoying my pool regularly. I've got a few toys in there, and I also just like to splash and play with my orange bucket. Last weekend I had an audience. Yamma and Baba and Mimi were here for dinner and afterward everyone circled around my pool while I played.
