Yesterday daddy told me that next year he'd tell me why we have Easter but this year it was just about fun. He made it sound like a big deal but honestly I don't understand what could be a bigger deal than chocolate peanut butter eggs. Maybe really big chocolate peanut butter eggs.
I was counting my money tonight, putting it in the piggy bank. I sat cross legged in front of the oinker and Mama would hand me a few coins at a time. Finally she caught on that when she handed me two coins, I would say "dew!"
duh!
So she asked me if I could say "one", and I said "no". Then she asked me if I could say "two" and I said "yah". Then she said "say two", and I said "dew!" Then she asked me if I could say "three" and I said "wee!". So then she counted out three coins..."one, two three". And I said "Yay!"

Having a nigh day.

I also like money.
Specifically, coins.
Mama showed me how to put coins in my piggy bank. It's the same piggy bank that mama had when she was a little girl. It even still has the same little spotted blue ribbon.

It doesn't make sense...why doesn't the money go in its mouth?
Today was Easter.
Yesterday, we colored eggs. Again, not much sense involved. Why color them? They taste the same no matter what they look like.
They made me wear a smock. The vinegar smelled funny, but I still kind of wanted to drink it.

This morning, mama got me ready as usual. She said something about "happy easter..." and that "daddy was downstairs cleaning up the rabbit pellets". Then she brought me downstairs. She took me into the front room. We turned the corner and...wow! My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. Apparently, some scary big bunny broke into our house last night and tried to make up for it by leaving me some presents. I wasn't going to be won over that easily. I wouldn't go near that basket for 10 full minutes.

Yamma and Baba R and Uncle Dodo came over this morning and we had brunch. I got to watch a fun soccer match on tv. And we had lots of good food, though I didn't feel like eating much. I had a few bites of ham and potatoes, and a bit of coffee cake though nobody let me try the coffee. And I got some chocolate from my basket...yum!
After we ate, I got to go hunt down the eggs that the bunny hid while he was trying to find a way out of the house. There was one under the leg of the chair, one in the planter, LOOK! There's one in my dump truck. I was so dang good at that egg hunt thing.
Then I went down for my nap.
Then when I got up, we went over to Yamma and Baba D's house. We played a little, then Auntie Mimi came over and we ate dinner. Well, they did. I didn't feel like eating much. I had a few bites of ham and some asparagus. And I choked on some yams. Yuck! I had to spit them out. And then even though mama said I couldn't have any dessert, I did get to have one chocolate treat. Because it's Easter and sometimes rules must be broken. Or maybe because she just couldn't resist my charms. Hee hee.

Well...
...maybe I shouldn't have posted that last picture. Yamma D gave me a haircut. It was awful...until they pulled out my juice treats. My yummy yummy gummy juice treats made everything ok. I sat there like a big boy and ate them while yamma trimmed my hair. I look so handsome now. You can see my face a lot better. I'll put up a picture soon.
One of my favorite words now (other than "no", of course) is "nice!". I can't say the "c" sound so it comes out "nigh". I use it when things are going well. Because then, they're "nice".
"Night night" also sounds like "nigh nigh". So it's all in the context. The other night when mama put me to bed, I let her tuck me in and then I started saying "Nigh nigh! Nigh nigh!" and then, "mwaaah!" She thought it was very very sweet.
Oh, and speaking of bedtime, last night mama "forgot" to give me a binky. But I didn't ask for one and I went to sleep just fine and never asked for it in the night either. I may be done with it, we'll see. But don't hold it over my head if I backslide once or twice.
I don't let mama help me brush my teeth anymore. She gets my toothbrush wet and puts a dot of baby einstein toothpaste on it and gives it to me, then I go to town. I brush my teeth and tongue and chew on the brush. My oral hygiene is in excellent condition. My toothbrush, not so much.

Farm Girls

Hi there. It's getting closer and closer to my birthday. I'm gonna be two, ya know?
Mama's finally starting to plan my birthday party. It sounds like she's going to be leaving on a business trip on my actual birthday, so that's kind of sad. But I'll have a party the day before so that will still be good. My party will be funner this year because I know more kids now and I hope they come.

This is Emmeline.

Emmeline's mama was a little bit jealous because I paid more attention to the other little girl, named Ella.
This is Ella.

Anyway, it was Emmeline's first birthday party and she was a little wound up so she didn't nap well that day. She fell asleep before they cut the cake or opened presents or anything. So I got to help her mama open her presents. I thought it was really fun. Other people told mama she shouldn't let me do it because it was mean but I was really ok with it. Here's me helping Emmeline's mama with one of her presents!

One of Emmeline's presents was a quacking duck puppet. I fed it some snacks. It seemed to like them.

So, in summary, this was the best party ever because Emmeline loves Baby Einstein/Baby MacDonald and it was a farm themed party so her mummy and daddy put the movie on a loop and it played over and over. It. was. awesome.
Photo frenzy
So we were goofing around while mama was trying to get a good picture for my birthday invitation. She asked me to smile, so I did.
Then she got a picture that doesn't look like me at all. It looks like Yamma D. What's up with that?

Yo.
So it's been a while since I've posted. Mama had a big presentation for work yesterday and she was always using her laptop for that so I didn't have a chance to get on and post an update.
If you haven't looked at Carson's blog lately, be sure to take a look at
this recent post. I'm prominently featured, so of course the quality of his blog is increased exponentially.
I know my "up" and "down" and "round and round". Also, I'm getting really good with my letters. I can point out lots more of them. My favorite is "B" but I can do others like "Z" and "P". I can say most of them too. And if mama says "A, B", I try to say "C" but it comes out a little funny. If mama shows me an "O", I can find the other "O" and say "yeohwah" which is how I say the letter "O".
I don't like to have my diaper changed (mama says "tough, so learn to use the potty") but it makes it a little better if I have a book to read while it's done. I also read a book during dinner last night. Mama thinks it's funny and says I'm a lot like her.

Then I whine and make this face and mama says, nope, I'm like daddy.
Before I go to sleep at night, I make sure mama winds up my music players. I have the two on the shelf and one in my crib. The one in my crib is a musical bear that auntie Chris gave me. Sometimes when I'm laying down I put the musical bear on my head so the music is nice and loud in my ear.
