Eh, just some stuff.

Tonight mama thought it would be funny if she got me to say "poopy". Well, I did...kind of. I said "bfoopee". Pretty close. So "poopy baby" came out as "bfoopee beebee". Verbal communication rules!
Not only that, but I can also point out the letter "A". That's right, the one right at the beginning of the alphamabet. The big pointy one. "B" is hit-or-miss.

Some of my favorite things to do right now are get my temperature taken with the ear thermometer, which is this great device that they stick right in my ear and it beeps, and try to eat the bubbles that mama blows in the bathtub.

"Water toddler" just doesn't have the same ring as "water baby"

On Sunday we went to swim class. I haven't been to a swim class in forever! We did some last summer but that was the last time. I had a really good time. This time I'm one of the older kids in class. It's also a bigger class than before, but that just means I need to be louder and cuter to be the favorite. It's already working. I squeal because I'm so happy, and laugh the whole time in the pool. The teachers really like me, I think. The other kids, not so much. I splash them and throw balls at them (it's not throwing to them if they're not expecting it...). I also flirt with their mommies.

So most of the time even though I liked being in the water, I held on to mama really really tight. Loosened up toward the end and mama held me out in front of her and I kicked and waved my arms around, all at once. I rock! I was totally the only kid there that could do that.

When we got home, baba D and auntie mimi came over for dinner 'cause mama made pot roast. Everybody seemed to like it, there were lots of yummy noises. But I'm not a fan.

Mama had been telling me that she would have twenty more kids if she could be sure they'd be like me. I got to thinking about it and decided that wouldn't be a good deal for me. Something had to change. I've got to stop being so, well, perfect. So a few weeks ago I decided it was time to flip the switch. No more sweet little Ian 24/7; I've got to be as cranky and difficult as possible if I want to keep any more juniors from rocking my world.

When do I get my time-in?

Mama and daddy are into giving timeouts lately. Mama gives them to me for slapping her or biting her and daddy hands them out for throwing things. What's a kid supposed to do around here? I even got one from Mrs Rader, Carson's mommy, the other day, for shoving another little kid. Everybody's out to get me. Don't they know I'm the boss in this house?

Three days

On Thursday, daddy took me to mama's office. I had a nice time. I hadn't seen her coworkers for a while. People kept trying to talk to me, but I had to keep moving. There were a lot of cute girls to wave at.

On Friday, I went to my music class. And I was sooooo into it! I was a dancing fool. We had scarves and things to wave around while the music played but it was more fun to throw them.

On Saturday, daddy needed to take the monster toy out of our garage and take it back to baba's house. It was fun, 'cause I got to ride on it a little! I liked that so much. See Rolando in my hand? He liked it too.

But then, they made me get off the big toy! Hey now...

But, I guess it was OK because I got to go in the trailer and then baba came over and he brought the big horse dog Kobe.

I like Kobe, and he likes me too! Isn't he a pretty doggy?

Then I took my nap.

Favorite Old Video

Mama found this old video on the camera. It's mama and daddy's favorite, I guess it's from about a year ago, when I was just a kid. Mama's going to send it to something called America's Funniest Videos. Wish me luck! I hear I could win a million binkies. Or maybe that was just from last night's dream...

The latest

I've been practicing the sound "lllllll". Mama taught me to stick out my tongue and touch my top lip while I'm making noise. Then I say the letter L! I'm working on T, too.

I'm in a music class now, daddy and I go every Friday. Carson and his mama go, too. We sing songs and dance around. Fun! They gave us a CD of the songs and daddy plays it at home and sings the songs to me. I think mama said I'm signed up for swim classes now too, we should be starting at the end of the month.

When Carson was at our house yesterday, we were eating snacks and playing. Carson was holding a little graham cracker up to his chest and I snuck up to him and leaned down and stuck out my tongue and snagged it! Hahaha! He didn't know what happened!

"Oh, What a Busy Day!" is the best book I have ever had read to me in my whole life! Mama got it down from the closet about 6 months ago. It was one of her favorite books when she was little. I love it so much! It's about these little kids and what they do during their day. They play and share and make lemonade and all sorts of good things. They say rhymes like

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear

Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair

Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't very fuzzy, was he?

I love that one! And there's a yo-yo in the book, and I can say yo-yo. Every time I see the book, I scream for someone to read it to me. Last month it disappeared for about two weeks, and I think somebody hid it. Hmmm. Also I've been suspecting for a while that mama skips pages sometimes when she reads it. Daddy just started doing that too. What's with these people? They can't handle reading it just four times a day, every day?

Grownups can be so dense...

torture chair

This week mama and yamma put me in the torture chair at yamma's house. It's a scary chair that can sometimes be fun (it spins around and goes up and down) but also, sometimes, when you sit in it, your hair gets cut. It seems innocuous but it's horrific. I screamed and yelled and cried but to no avail. Then I decided to be quiet and play dead. It worked! The haircut was over in a flash.

Then mama took my sweatshirt off and I DID NOT WANT MY SWEATSHIRT OFF! I know it had hair on it but I didn't care. Apparently they did though. That was a challenging evening. But it's over now and I'll never ever have to do it again. Right, yamma? Right........?

Here are pictures of me with my kickin' new 'do.

Me, me, I'm a legomaniac

Yes, those commercial jingles of old could have been singing about me. I love my legos and I'm getting quite skilled at assembling them. Taking them apart, on the other hand, usually consists of one of two methods: bringing them to whichever parent is closest and instructing them to separate the individual pieces and place them on the table in a very specific spot...or, throwing them at the ground. Either way works, but the latter is faster and more satisfying.

I have two lego men; one, you've already met (Oleg). He's the one who rides the rocking elephant with me. The other one, shown here, is Rolando. He's a little larger, but he's a lot of fun. He's also more businesslike though he has been known to kiss me and Oleg. Mama has already constructed him several pyramids and a carwash.

The other night, after I went to bed, I heard muffled voices talking about my legos. Mama was cleaning up the front room, and she came across this structure. She asked daddy if he made it, and he said no and she didn't believe him. I was upstairs laughing! She thought it was too precise and symmetrical for me to have done it, but daddy apparently kept a straight face and said that no he didn't do it. I don't know if she believed him or not, but I'm not going to be the one to bring it up.

My present from Uncle Doron

After Christmas, Uncle Dodo came by and brought me my present 'cause he didn't have it wrapped in time for Christmas. He still didn't have it wrapped when he brought it over but that's OK, that's what uncles are for and I got to do lots of unwrapping at Christmas and my hands are still a little sore.
He brought me a laptop, bilingual of course. A standard American English one would not be sufficient for my massive and highly advanced cerebrum.
After mama showed me what it was, I cozied up on the couch with it and settled in to do some serious learnin'.

...and pictures from Christmas...

I woke up on Christmas morning, minding my own business, mama came in, changed my diaper, and brought me downstairs. Then I saw the tree! There was stuff there that wasn't there when I went to bed! "Wow, wow, wow!"
I didn't know where to go first. There was a mower, a tent, a train, a new "Tails" book to replace the one that Carson and I destroyed, new animals and stuff for my barn, and lots of pretty packages!
Gotta check out the new stable and animals!
Then mama and daddy took me into the other room and there were stockings that had evidently been hung by the chimney with care. There was good stuff in them.

I got some cookies and toys and, hey, a toothbrush! I know what to do with this.

I got pretty good at this unwrapping thing.

OOOOHHH! Pajamas from great grandma!
What are we opening now? What are we opening now?

Yay! A book from Uncle Steve!

Spiderman, spiderman, he can do what spiders can!!!!

Then Yamma and Baba D and Uncle Brad and Auntie Amy came by and I got to open more toys.
Here, I'm multitasking. Playing with my barn while flipping through the new book. So many toys, so little time!

Check it out...a new ride on car. Groovy! The horn even beep-beeps.

This year's family photo.

My daddy. Hubba hubba!

Me and my daddy.
Uncle Brad and Auntie Amy goofing around a bit.
And THEN...after my nap, Oma and Opa and Uncle Dodo came over with more presents! I got a table and chairs, an easel and some clothes.
What does mama get when she asks me to smile?
So there it is. A busy day, a fun Christmas, lots of good time with family. It was exhausting and I slept really well that night. Can't wait for next year!

Christmas Eve...finally.

We're mostly better after being sick (mama and me got awful sick while daddy just watched) and now mama is back at work after her two week vacation. Waaah. But it is nice, though, to be back in our regular routine.

So, Christmas? I knew something was going on, I just knew it. I made out like a bandit.

Mama took a few pictures of us on Christmas Eve.

Shaking Yamma's present!
