Kai, Kai, he’s our guy

Last night before our baths Kai was having some Naked Baby Time and I was having some Naked Ian Time. He was laying on my bed and he rolled over from his belly to his back for the first time. It was pretty cool that he did it on my bed. We were very excited for him. I didn’t want to wait for him to do it again, so I put him back on his belly and “helped” him roll over a couple more times.

It’s fun that he’s a little more sturdy now and I can tumble him a bit. Sometimes I do forget and get a little too rough but I love him and don’t mean to hurt him.

Here he is set up to watch a little Old MacDonald.

Silly things my mama says

Mamas say funny things sometimes. I don’t know where she comes up with this stuff. These are some of the more interesting ones lately.

I don’t care if it itches…get your hands out of there!

Just another pretty baby picture

Our sweet baby brown eyes!

This baby might look like me but he’s pretty different from me. This baby really likes to snuggle with blankets and animals. His very favorite, shown with him above, is a soft little giraffe that used to be mine. He will often stop squawking if you hand it to him.

Hey, daddy, maybe that’s why he was upset today. The giraffe was in the wash.

When it pours rain on your picnic

A few weeks ago mama took Kai and me on a little picnic. We went to a park by our house.

There were some ducks there.

There was also a power pole. I asked mama to take a picture of me with it.

We had packed a nice lunch. Some juice, fruit snacks, jelly beans, and peanut butter and honey sandwiches with the crusts cut off!

It started raining a little as soon as we ate, so we got up and had a quick walk around. We went down to where there was a creek and trees and a bridge. Good times!

We were bummed that it was still raining a tiny bit. But then mama whispered a secret to me. We could go to the playground at another park! Yeah!

This park was near yamma’s old house. I played on the play structure for a while then wanted to go over to the gazebo thing.

Mama has a new computer and new computer programs and she is very proud of them so has started playing with photo editing more. We like this picture of me in the gazebo, it looks like I’m a vogueing supermodel.

It was still raining but the clouds were getting darker. We went back to the play structure and mama told me to wrap things up. She was buckling Kai back into his baby seat when all of a sudden the clouds opened up. We could see the downpour making its way across the basketball court toward us. Everyone at the park started screaming and running. Everyone but us. My mama does not scream and run. We simply walked quickly and decisively to the car. We do not fear the rain.

Too tired to think of a good title.

I'm thinking that if they have a contest for the world's best baby, we would win it. Because my baby is the best baby in the world. He is on a good schedule now for naps and eating. And at night he sleeps for 6-7 hours at a time. He doesn't cramp my style too much, but sometimes I have to wait for someone to get me juice or play a game with me. Soon baby will be big enough to play games with me. That will be good.

In the mornings baby is so very happy, he smiles and wiggles, it's like the happiness is so built up inside him it's trying to explode out of him.

He gets cranky sometimes when he's hungry or tired, but I sing him a song that he likes. It sounds like "twinkle twinkle little star" but the words are "Don't cry, little Kai, you're our special little guy."

We went to the library today to take back the movies we borrowed, which were "Peter Pan" and "Oliver and Company". I liked Peter Pan and the pirates, it had a flying pirate ship. I didn't like the Oliver one at all. I didn't get to borrow more movies from the library because I've been having poop accidents and so I lost my TV privileges. I earned a movie last night (and told the Chinese food delivery guy all about it) but lost my movie today because I had a little poop and it ended up on the living room floor. Bailey cleaned it up for us.

But I digress. We went to the library today to take back the movies we borrowed, and though I didn't get a movie, we got some music CDs and some books. I picked out books about stars and planets and a book about Oregon. I read my Venus book in the car on the way to Trader Joe's.

I'm not taking naps anymore so I get tired kind of early. But I do my best to stay delightful. I got to bed late tonight but never stopped smiling. Before bed I told mama some facts about Venus. Venus is the same size as the Earth, and the air is heavy. Also it's in the solar system, like Earth. And we're in the United States.

Did you know a galactic toot is a toot so stinky the astronauts can smell it from outer space?
