Ding Ding Ding! I turned three!

Two weeks ago I had my party. Yeeaaahh the best party evar.

I got to have the party at daddy's fire station. I was so excited, I talked about it for months beforehand. And that was before we knew we would be able to have it at the station. I was just telling everybody that I was going to have lemon cake. Here's me helping with the lemon cupcakes.

Anyway, I am probably the luckiest kid ever. Who can say they had their birthday party at a fire station? Me. That's who.

We started out with balloons and silly string and bubbles. I had lots of little friends join me...no-one I invited turned down this party! Everything was set up in the big bay, right in front of a real live fire engine. We had lots of cupcakes, and a pinata, and coffee for the mommies and daddies.

We were having a good old time, running around and popping balloons, when daddy and his firefighters suddenly got serious and started running for their firefighter coats. They got suited up and ran to the fire engine 'cause hey, there was a fire! Wow!

Yeah, my daddy drives a fire truck. What does yours do?

It was so awesome, everybody got excited and we all followed the engine down the driveway. We were just going to wave them goodbye and good luck, but all of a sudden we saw the smoke. It was just across the field; so close that I could have run right to it (which I considered for a few minutes)

Mommies and daddies were laughing because they thought mama set it up but it was a real live fire. You don't get any better than that. Everybody's gonna have to try real hard to top that one. Even mama won't be able to touch this next year. Maybe she will have to set something on fire.

Here's Dylan trying on the little turnout coat that daddy found for us.

My little friend Ella having a fire-ific time at the party.

Carson getting his fire on.

I got to wear a real live badge for the day! It put real live holes in my shirt but that's a small price to pay.

Pinata time.

The pinata had lots of stuff in it...candy, stickers, bandaids, a couple of rubber duckies, and some packets of fruit snacks. Guess which of these Carson was hoarding? He ended up with so many in his arms that he couldn't walk and mama had to stuff them in his pockets.

Good party. What are we doing next year?

After my party at the fire station, I went home and got into bed and could not sleep for even a second. I was wound up tight. That night was our family birthday event. Wate yamma and auntie Chris came down from seattle to be with me. So much fun! We ate hamburgers and I opened more presents and had leftover cupcakes for dessert.

Scooter! Scooter!

uh-uh-uh---piano!

BIKE BIKE BIKE oh I'm so tired.

Then I went to bed and was asleep right away. Busy day, fun day, wear-me-out day.

A high-temp Easter

Mama and I colored eggs a couple of days ago because today's Easter! I had a fever today and the indoor egg hunt was about the extent of the energy I could muster. I'd been very excited about today. Telling mama and everybody ...the easter bunny's coming! for the last week. Even this morning, despite my high temperature, I was certain that the easter bunny was downstairs and I needed to go see him. I got a basket with goodies and some bunny slippers. It was fun but being sick was a major bummer. Mama and I snuggled on the couch for hours and watched Cars and also Baby McDonald...three times in a row. And then Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer.

My birthday party was yesterday and I have a lot to post! Too much to do now. Something quick that I can put up now, though, is my new bed! Mama had a lady do it for us and I call it my special bed. It's a bunny bed. Mama and daddy took my old toddler bed and the rocking chair and the changing table out of my room and now there's my special bunny bed and my room feels so much bigger now. I feel so little in my big boy bed.

I'm doing yoga!

My March

Wow! Has it really been a month since my last post? We've sure been busy. We're all on vacation this week and so just now have time to get an update done. We were in Sunriver for four whole days this week and I had a great time!

Anyway, here's a long post to tell you what's been going on...

I got to go to the Thomas show! Mama got us great tickets, we were really close. We rode the Max train all the way to the rose quarter. It was a little long for me, I kept wanting to get off. Can you believe that?

I had the most fun ever. Mama wasn't supposed to take pictures but she did anyway and some guy threatened to take the camera away but she ignored him and took another picture just to show him what's what. Is that any kind of example to set for me?

There was a lot of music and singing and sound effects and hand motions. I joined in and had so much fun. It was a long show though. I found out later that we left at intermission. No fair! Mama had to go back to work for a late meeting.

Mama got me more paints. I've been doing a lot of painting in my painting shirt. And I have a drawer in the kitchen now that's filled with all my art stuff.

We went out to eat with Oma and Opa and Uncle Dodo for mama's birthday. Here's mama.

Mugging.

Yummm! Grilled cheese and fries! A classic.

Oma looks like she enjoys the smell of my ear.

And I remembered that I really really like riding on Uncle Dodo's shoulders.

Oh yeah, in the time since I've written, I've taken a few baths.

And suffered through more photo shoots...

And I rediscovered daddy's OSU hat. And made mama dig out my sunglasses to complete the look.

I've played soccer with mama in the cul-de-sac in front of our house and played basketball on a neighbor's hoop.

When I wake up with a soaked diaper, I tell mama that I "dreamed about rain". When I wake up dry, I tell mama that I "dreamed about sand".

I really like pretending. I tell yamma that I'm mama. I tell daddy that I'm baba. And I tell mama that I'm Barack Obama.

I got to watch the launch of Discovery and was really excited about the liftoff. I was looking out the window into the sky to see if I could spot the shuttle.

I get tired of people telling me what to do. Sometimes if mama tells me to stop doing something I tell her Don't be rude, mama. Don't be bossy.

My binkies got old and one of them started to grow something inside it. So mama ordered some new ones for me and tossed out the old ones. When I was introduced to the new binkies, I decided I didn't like them. I asked for the old binkies back. Mama said These binkies or no binkies. So I don't use binkies anymore. The new ones are still sitting on the shelf by my bed in case I want them. When I look at them I say One binky (with fingers straight out)... or no binky (fingers in an "O").

And now to the most important part of the month, vacation in Sunriver! A couple days before we left, mama started getting me psyched up and was talking it up a whole bunch. I got really excited about the whole "watching videos in the car" thing, which I only get to do on long trips. I had my two videos planned out well ahead of time. I would watch the Baby Einstin bunny video and then the Cars movie. I helped mama and daddy load up the car the morning we left, and couldn't wait to hop into my seat!

Here's our Sunriver house. I liked saying hello, Sunriver home! every time we pulled up. Sometimes I would tell it that I had missed it.

We got fresh snow every night but nothing accumulated because it all melted during the day.

We were basically across the street from the park. It was almost too cold to play outside, but Carson had let me borrow his snow bib and boots.

One night we went into Bend and had dinner with uncle Josh and his wife and baby girl. I had a good time playing there and made a very good impression by being so sweet and kind with little Kristina.

Here's me at the bridge in the Old Mill District.

Then, another night, we met up with Granny Cindi and her friend Roger. I really clicked with "papa Roger". We had dinner and after I finished eating I wanted to sit with Roger. Only Roger. Nobody but Roger. He got me ice cream. Granny Cindi told the server it was my birthday so I could get free ice cream and have a candle to blow out.

This crazy lady is Granny Cindi. She's not my real granny but don't tell her that. She thinks she is.

When we got back to our Sunriver home (which I had missed...), papa Roger endeared me to him even more deeply by putting me in a blanket and swinging me around. Yeah, you heard that right. Rock on!

Another thing we did is drive up to Mount Bachelor. I guess a lot of people ski and snowboard up there. Yeah, lots of people. But not me. You see, my parents got me all psyched up and excited about going up to the mountain in the snow. And I had seen videos and such of this skiing thing, and even practice it at home, like on 2x4s in the driveway, and on the wii fit. I had this idea in my mind that we were going to go to the mountain and I was going to ski. Cruel fate! Curse you mama and daddy! You broke my heart and I totally broke down in a fit of despair.

Here's me, in front of the Mt. Bachelor sign, before my dreams were shattered.

Here's me, checking out the skis. I kept telling mama, I need some of those!

Here's daddy, explaining to me that I wasn't going to be skiing this year.

Me trying to hold it together. I didn't want the mountain to see me cry. By the way, that guy behind us had just told mama and daddy that he used to be a ski instructor and he taught kids my age all the time. Thanks a lot, jerkface!

So they finally got me off the mountain, literally kicking and screaming, amid promises that we would "definitely learn how to ski next year, when I'm a little bigger".

It was a good trip, other than...we'll call it the "incident". And the length of time we stayed there was really perfect because the day before we left, I started missing my real home and asking to go back to Ian's home. The morning we left, we took a family picture for the archives. Then I waved bye bye to the house and said Bye bye, Sunriver home! Thank you for the nice time! We'll miss you!

Talk to you soon!
