Farm Girls

Hi there. It's getting closer and closer to my birthday. I'm gonna be two, ya know?

Mama's finally starting to plan my birthday party. It sounds like she's going to be leaving on a business trip on my actual birthday, so that's kind of sad. But I'll have a party the day before so that will still be good. My party will be funner this year because I know more kids now and I hope they come.

Last weekend I went to a birthday party for my little girlfriend Emmeline. There were lots of grownups there and me and two little girls.

This is Emmeline.

Emmeline's mama was a little bit jealous because I paid more attention to the other little girl, named Ella.

This is Ella.

I don't know why she was jealous. They're both cute girls but we're too young for anything serious. Anything can happen in twenty years...

Anyway, it was Emmeline's first birthday party and she was a little wound up so she didn't nap well that day. She fell asleep before they cut the cake or opened presents or anything. So I got to help her mama open her presents. I thought it was really fun. Other people told mama she shouldn't let me do it because it was mean but I was really ok with it. Here's me helping Emmeline's mama with one of her presents!

One of Emmeline's presents was a quacking duck puppet. I fed it some snacks. It seemed to like them.

So, in summary, this was the best party ever because Emmeline loves Baby Einstein/Baby MacDonald and it was a farm themed party so her mummy and daddy put the movie on a loop and it played over and over. It. was. awesome.

Uncle Dodo came to see me on Sunday.

He played with me.

While daddy enjoyed his beer.

So we were goofing around while mama was trying to get a good picture for my birthday invitation. She asked me to smile, so I did.
Then she got a picture that doesn't look like me at all. It looks like Yamma D. What's up with that?

So it's been a while since I've posted. Mama had a big presentation for work yesterday and she was always using her laptop for that so I didn't have a chance to get on and post an update.

If you haven't looked at Carson's blog lately, be sure to take a look at
this recent post
. I'm prominently featured, so of course the quality of his blog is increased exponentially.

I know my "up" and "down" and "round and round". Also, I'm getting really good with my letters. I can point out lots more of them. My favorite is "B" but I can do others like "Z" and "P". I can say most of them too. And if mama says "A, B", I try to say "C" but it comes out a little funny. If mama shows me an "O", I can find the other "O" and say "yeohwah" which is how I say the letter "O".

I don't like to have my diaper changed (mama says "tough, so learn to use the potty") but it makes it a little better if I have a book to read while it's done. I also read a book during dinner last night. Mama thinks it's funny and says I'm a lot like her.

Then I whine and make this face and mama says, nope, I'm like daddy.

Before I go to sleep at night, I make sure mama winds up my music players. I have the two on the shelf and one in my crib. The one in my crib is a musical bear that auntie Chris gave me. Sometimes when I'm laying down I put the musical bear on my head so the music is nice and loud in my ear.

moley moley moley

Mama and daddy have lots of moles. I like to point them out. Now I have two of my own! There's one on the inside of my left knee and there's one right below the diaper line on the back of my left leg. I just hope God starts to spread them out a little more...I'd look pretty funny with all my moles on one leg!

The night mama found them she started singing that she loves my little moles and she loves my little feet. She had me laughing so hard I was almost choking.

my buddy

Mama was sick today and stayed home from work. Not only that, but Carson played at my house today too. So I had lots of company. It was a little overwhelming but lots of fun.

Carson discovered my potty and knew just what to do. "poo-poo?"

When mama ordered my potty she also ordered a book "Where's Baby's Belly Button?" It's a pretty good book, it's a lift-the-flap peekaboo book. She read it to me and Carson. In the book, the baby's belly button is under her shirt. A few hours later, after our naps, Carson decided to check and see if my belly button is under my shirt. So we were in the kitchen and he kept lifting up my shirt to point at my belly button. Mama and daddy thought it was really funny and daddy asked me where Carson's belly button was and so I lifted up his shirt and pointed it out.

P.S. Carson says that a horse says moo. I don't know if I believe him...he may be trying to mislead me.

Potty break

Yesterday we got in the mail a little plastic potty. I know what it's for. But pulling down pants and wiping and all that takes so much time...I'd rather stretch out this diaper gig for a while longer.

Yes, it's not only a potty, but it doubles as a stool! Can you dig it?

I eventually got up the nerve to sit on it. It was OK but don't get used to this mama.

As a bonus, the box that my potty came in is the perfect size for a clubhouse! Mama put a door and some windows in it, and voila! A tiny retreat for me.

My pajama shirt got wet at about the same time I pooped so when mama and I went upstairs to change, she asked me to pick out the shirt I wanted to wear. I found my chicken shirt in the closet, left over from Halloween. Mama thinks I look like Big Bird. I don't know who that is.
